Happy Monday! I'm back again on this weekly bookish meme created by Sheila at Book Journey. The summer is in full swing . . . . and I have been working through my summer reading list. I have been happily reading away. . . but not finding as much time to write book reviews or other blog posts as I might have hoped. I'm a little behind on reviews! I blame the offspring--they're home from school, and always asking me to drive them places. My chauffeuring duties are really cutting into my blogging time. :) Ah well, it's wonderful to have more time with them, now that the hectic school year is finally completed.
In the past week, I finished these three books:
My reviews will be coming soon.
Last week on the blog, I did manage to post a review of this book:
You can read my review of Tom Rachman's The Rise and Fall of Great Powers here. It was a good read, if not as completely captivating as I'd hoped. I rated it a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
On audio, I am still listening to Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I hope to wrap that up this week. As I've mentioned before, sometimes I take a quite a while to listen to an audiobook, and Americanah is a fairly lengthy one. I will say, however, that the narration is excellent, and I'm glad I choose this novel as an audiobook.
Hope everyone is having a lovely summer with lots of time for reading good books!
Looks like you have some great books in your life. I really want to read The Vacationers, and Americanah is hanging out on my Nook. We'll see how long it takes me to get to it!
ReplyDelete"Hanging out"... yep, I have many books that hang out on my Kindle! Just finished Vacationers, and it is a very, very quick read. Perfect if you have a long afternoon at the pool or pleasant evening outside to read.
ReplyDeleteI'm behind on reviews, too, but plan post one for The Vacationers this week... and I really want to read Euphoria.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad if I am not the only one who gets behind on reviews!
DeleteAmericanah is one of those books I have been meaning to pick up...but then I get distracted by all of the other books! I'm glad you are enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteIt's lengthy, but a worthwhile "listen!"
